HBCUs Doctoral degree offerings

HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) Offering Doctoral Programs
The Human Development Group put together a list of HBCUs and the doctoral degrees offered. A list of links to ALL HBCUs may be found at the Department of Education website

The majority of HBCUs are not themselves doctoral granting institutions. The HD Group staff visited every HBCU website and made phone calls to the institutions in some cases to create this list. We have made every attempt to be accurate. Please contact us if errors are found.

  1. Thanks for this useful info! You read my mind. I am ready to go to the next academic level and I want to attend an HBCU..I am a little disappointed that only two of the universities offers a Ph.D. in English.. Thank you, again.

  3. I am trying to write a paper for one of my classes, and am having a hard time finding information on the topic. Our prof wants us to get others philosophies of higher education and evaluate them and come up with our own. However, when I search "philosophy of higher education" all I get is info on PhD programs! So, if you are a higher ed administrator or an educator, what is your philosophy of higher education, or what is your college's philosophy?

  8. Basic education is barely affordable for most of the country. For those who can afford it, it may not be enough to secure a job about more knowledge right here After a high school degree, a bachelor's is never enough.
